If the Access Expense Android app is crashing, not loading, or losing data during claim submission, work through these steps in order.
Step 1: Update the app to the latest version
App updates are the most common fix for crashes and stability issues on Android. Check that you are running the latest version before trying anything else.
Open the Google Play Store on your device
Tap your profile icon in the top right
Tap Manage apps & device
Under Updates available, tap Update next to Access Expense — or tap Update all
Once the update completes, reopen the app and try submitting a claim
If no update is shown, you already have the latest version installed. Continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Clear the app cache
Clearing the cache removes temporary files that may be causing the app to crash or behave unexpectedly.
Open Settings on your device
Tap Apps (or Application Manager, depending on your Android version)
Find and tap Access Expense in the app list
Tap Storage & cache
Tap Clear cache
Reopen the app and try again
Step 3: Force stop and restart the app
If the app is frozen or unresponsive:
Open Settings on your device
Tap Apps
Find and tap Access Expense
Tap Force stop
Wait a few seconds, then reopen the app
Step 4: Reinstall the app
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, uninstalling and reinstalling the app replaces any corrupted installation files.
Uninstalling the app does not affect your expense data — your claims and settings are stored in your account, not on the device.
Press and hold the Access Expense app icon on your device
Tap Uninstall and confirm
Open the Google Play Store
Search for Access Expense and reinstall it
Log in and test by submitting a claim
