If Approval Routes aren't being used anymore, they can be deleted. To do this:
Go to Settings, then click Approval.
Click the Actions button on the Approval Route
Click Delete.
Please ensure there aren't any users assigned to the Approval Route. If the Approval Route is currently being used, you will get the following error message when trying to delete it:
This Approval is currently in use.
